What is a Provisional Psychologist?
A provisional Psychologist is someone who has completed their masters degree, and is doing a year supervised internship, similar to medical doctors.  Alyssa was trained at the YWCA Edmonton, gaining experience with trauma, domestic violence, depression, anxiety and other issues. She also completed her training at the University of Alberta Clinic, where she worked with a large variety of presenting concerns.

Alyssa Hryciw Bio:

I am a provisional psychologist with a Masters in Counselling Psychology from the University of Alberta.

Each individual has the capacity to heal; my role is to provide the support and guidance to achieve this. I believe that everyone experiences and processes events differently, so it is important to assist healing in a unique manner that fits each client. To achieve this, I use collaborative evidence-based approaches, including working with emotions, facilitating insight, and forming a safe space to fully explore the existing source of suffering.

I have experience working with individuals (adults, adolescents, children) and couples who struggle with addiction, trauma, anxiety, depression, interpersonal issues, and difficult life transitions.

Sometimes that first step can be the hardest; lets take that step together.
