Chronic Pain Group (Online)

  • This group is focused on helping you learn to adapt to your chronic pain by helping you connect to the present through mindfulness and value exploration.  It is a psychoeducational group, meaning each session is focused on teaching a new topic related to pain management. Group participation is highly encouraged, and participants are given time to share their stories and get support from their peers in the group.

This is a closed group, meaning no one new can join after enrollment has finished. The group will be a total of 8 participants. Attending each session is expected. Participants will complete a 15 minute intake call prior to being accepted into group, to assure that this is the right group for you at this time..

  • Anticipated to start September 16, 2024.
    Time: 6pm-7:30pm.
    Location: Online via Zoom.

  • You will have to complete a 15 minute phone or zoom consult with Lakota or Dr. Pott. This is to determine if the group is a fit for your goals, as well as to discuss group norms, and assure you are a fit for group as well.

If interested please e-mail Horizoncounselling@outlook.com to set up an intake session, or you may book a consult call directly into Lakota’s schedule by clicking the button below and selecting her name and "Group Intake."

  • $65/session, a total of 8 sessions, so $520 total.

Payment is expected at the start of each session. We can take credit cards to bill directly, or e-transfer prior to group.

Some insurance plans do cover group counselling. We can direct bill for Blue Cross and Green Shield.

  • This is an online pain management group for adults struggling with chronic pain concerns. This is not a crisis management group, therefore we cannot support individuals who are currently suicidal, actively using substances to cope, or who are in a severe mental health crisis.

  • Group members are expected to participate in each session. They are encouraged to be engaged and share their stories and responses to the group material. Cameras are expected to be turned on, and group members are expected to be in a private location for the group session.

Group members will be given group rules at the start, that often include respect for other group members, active participation, encouragement to ask questions, and general kindness and understanding to all group participants.
